Unlike all other hammers out there, the PSDB is all-steel precision CNC machined hammer. No cheap wood handles or over-molded screws for tips. This is a serious hammer for serious gunsmithing - hitting pins, punches, whatever. The PSDB can have 3 different hammer tip materials “on-board” - one can be screwed into each side of the hammer head, and the third screws into the bottom of the handle. So no matter what type of pin, or against what finish you might have to hit you can pick a hard or soft non-marring hammer tip for the job. The tips are held tight with large o-rings, so they’ll never back-off and come loose. The PSDB is a whole new type of dead-blow hammer, with the PSDB Hammer from Magna-Matic Defense your not just pounding sand. Our dead-blow design incorporates a solid steel slug (rather than sand in most dead-blow hammers), this provides you with a kinetic transfer of energy that multiplies your hitting force. If you have a job where light gentle tapping is required, you can remove the steel slug, and store it in the handle of the PSDB. We have put tremendous thought into the design of this hammer, from the various curves in the handle allowing for numerous choked up hand positions for lighter tapping, or a full handle grip for maximum force. The end of our handle isn’t just a clever storage area for the steel slug when not in use, since we have the third hammer tip on the end of the handle, you can produce very light gentle tapping force with the end of the handle. Si n'importe quel type de goupille, ou contre ce que vous terminer devra peut-être frappé vous pouvez vous procurer une dur ou mou non-troubler marteau pointe pour le travail. Les conseils tiennent serrés avec gros joints toriques, donc ils vont jamais recul et se détacher. La PSDB est un tout nouveau type de morts-coup marteau, avec le marteau du PSDB de défense Magna-Matic votre sable pas juste battre. Notre conception de la morte-coup intègre une limace en acier solide (plutôt que sable dans la plupart des marteaux morts-coup), cela vous donne un transfert cinétique d'énergie qui multiplie votre force de frappe. Si vous avez un emploi où la lumière douce tapant est requis, vous pouvez supprimer la limace en acier et stockez-le dans la poignée de la PSDB. Nous avons mis énormes étouffé de pensée dans la conception de ce marteau, à partir des courbes différentes dans la poignée permettant de nombreuses positions de main pour puiser plus léger, ou une poignée pleine de force maximale. La fin de notre identifiant n'est pas seulement une zone de stockage intelligent pour la limace acier quand pas en service, puisque nous avons la troisième pointe de marteau sur l'extrémité de la poignée, vous pouvez produire force très lumière tapant doucement avec l'extrémité de la poignée. PSDB marteau comprend : Marteau corps/manche un laiton pointe un durci pointe en acier une limace pointe un acier morts-coup de delrin (plastique). Great Hammer! (06.02.2014)

I use this hammer to install roll pins in my AR15 builds. It's a great design and I especially like the taper closer to the head of the hammer so I can have a positive grip while striking lightly to start rolls pins. Once started, I can adjust my grip to the end for heavier strikes. It is truly a dead-blow hammer. The hammer does not bounce back at all when striking an object. If the dead-blow feature is not desired, the weight can be removed. I'm hoping replacement heads will be offered here on Brownells soon. I have not ruined any as of yet, but the heads are a wear item and it would be nice to have spares on hand.

Thought this was a good tool (22.01.2015)

I bought this hammer about 3 months ago and up until recently i thought it was a great product. However today when using it i had one of the heads shear off at the base of the threads. I was not pounding in rail road spikes or abusing it. Just using as i do almost every day as a gunsmith. I would not be inclined to purchase this again as it broke.

Was my favorite hammer of all time... (14.07.2016)

I love this hammer! I'm hoping that my first one, which Brownell is crediting since it broke, was a fluke. I have enjoyed it enough for a couple of months to order another. It broke using the steel face while snapping a well scored, 1/4" lathe bit in the vice to make a boring cutter. That does not require much impact at all. The wall thickness is pretty thin where it broke. I've used in in more vigorous occurrences on driving punches. I love the balance, heft, size, and effect. It has been my "go to" bench hammer.

Great Hammer, Was Envy of Class (23.05.2018)

I bought this hammer for a gunsmithing class, and am glad I did, it did everything I wanted/needed it to do, and was appreciated by several other classmates. Love how it stores the extra head and weight on handle when not in use. Would buy again in a heartbeat!

head sheared off (04.10.2018)

I had this a little over a year and was tapping a dovetail with a nylon punch when the head sheared off at the bottom thread. Luckily the piece that broke off and the weight that was inside missed striking the gun I was working on. Up until this point I had no problems with the hammer. This is not acceptable for this hammer and worse considering the item price. I won't take a chance with this one again.
