Trigger/Bolt Spring(25.03.2011)
I put this in my AWA Longhorn 45 Colt SAA reproduction, which is reportedly a part-for-part exchange with 2nd Gen. Colt SAAs. Plus, I put one in my 1860 Army Colt Cap 'n Ball repro, which was made by Uberti and has Iver Johnson markings. (made in the mid '70s) It did a great job of smoothing the feel of both guns and reduced the effort to work their actions. Along with thousands of rounds 'thru both guns since these springs were installed, the trigger pulls and action now feel like greased glass. Best money I've spent on these guns!
ONLY Bolt Stop Spring for Single Actons(31.03.2011)
Have been doing action work (and repairs- Hardway's rolling tool box has been out at many Cowboy matches in Florida)for quite some time for myself and customers at [...] in Clearwater, FL. The Heine spring is #1- Reliable part that doesn't break, and #2- an excellent spring that provides a smooth dependable spring, important for both the cylinder lock up (sloppy part here can eventually cause expensive wear and timing issues) and a lighter smoother trigger. Unless the customer is a traditionalist ("must have it like it was- original") I always use a Heine Bolt Stop spring as part of an Action Job. There are other hammer springs that work other than Wolfe,, but only one Heine. A flat bolt stop spring is a part prone to breaking. Have never seen a broken Heine spring. A pair of personal AWA Peacekeeper Colt Clones have 10-12,000 rounds fired, mostly blackpowder, with no issues. The Heine requires no modifications to the gun compared to the stock flat springs. It also works in every Colt Clone of the Single Action Army I have seen. On my personal guns, when NEW, I replace the original spring with the Heine before I shoot the gun (reason for current order of two, have six in stock (min. inventory) in Hardway's Hardware Rolling Range box, but need two Heine's for a pair of new Open Tops. Hardway Horsley, SASS Life #3106, RO #1 & 2
MAKE YOUR PISTOL BETTER THAN NEW(11.10.2012)
This spring was a fantastic purchase. It fit perfectly and I bought another one as soon as I got back from the range today for my other pistol. Everyone needs this spring because it made the trigger so smooth. I was very easy to put in just take the screws out of the bottom of pistol slide down the trigger guard, take out the screw holding in the flat spring, and install the new one. Put back together and enjoy your new trigger job!!!
Doesnt work with Pietta 1851(09.11.2015)
After many years of regularly replacing the trigger/bolt spring in my Pietta 1851 Colt I had seen these for a while and wondered if they would fit. I then saw a forum post suggesting exactly that use. I then ordered one but it doesn't fit. It fits in OK and the bolt leg works but the trigger leg is about 1/16" too short.
