A cradle makes checkering so much easier - and the results so much better - that we have never met a professional stockmaker who did not use a checkering cradle! Two of the most important advantages of a good checkering cradle are: 1) It allows you to work with both hands and rotate the stock as you checker across the pattern, keeping the work area at the most comfortable, controlled position. This eliminates the clumsy and difficult task of trying to work around a stationary stock - sometimes almost to the point of standing on your head - and following the pattern correctly from border to border. 2) Prevents the back and forth wobble that kills the cutting action of the checkering tools. If the stock is not securely held, it will move with the cutter. This movement lets the cutter grab the stock and makes it almost impossible to cut straight, even lines of uniform depth. Simple in design, low in cost, of rugged wood construction and highly practical. Adjustable to hold rifle stocks up to 33" long (which will include all stocks except Mannlicher-style) and all shotgun stocks and forends. Holds the stock rigidly, without marring finish, yet permits turning of the stock as the work progresses. Convenient also for stock inletting, sanding, staining and finishing. Bolt directly to the bench, or lock into a sturdy vise. Comes complete with all holders, bolts and instructions.

Ref Fabricant: 080026000 050806104105 Un berceau fait quadrillage tellement plus facile - et les résultats tellement mieux - que nous n'avons jamais rencontré un stockmaker professionnel qui n'a pas utilisé un berceau checkering ! Deux des plus grands avantages d'un bon berceau checkering sont: 1) il permet de travailler avec les deux mains et faire tourner le stock que vous checker sur le modèle, gardant la zone de travail la plus confortable, position contrôlée. Ceci élimine la maladroite et difficile tâche de tenter de contourner un stock fixe - parfois presque jusqu'au point de commandes sur votre tête - et en suivant le modèle correctement à la frontière à la frontière. 2) empêche l'arrière et avant wobble qui tue l'action de coupe des outils checkering. Si le stock n'est pas solidement maintenu, il se déplace avec le cutter. Ce mouvement permet de saisir le stock le coupeur et rend presque impossible de couper tout droit, lignes de même profondeur. Simple dans sa conception, peu coûteux, de construction en bois robuste et très pratique. Réglable à maintenir des stocks de la carabine jusqu'à 33" long (qui comprendra tous les stocks sauf Mannlicher-style) et tous les stocks de fusil de chasse et têtières. Détient le stock de façon rigide, sans rayer la finition, mais permet la rotation du stock en cours de travail. Pratique aussi pour stock inletting, ponçage, la coloration et la finition. Visser directement sur le banc, ou bloquer dans un étau robuste. Livré avec tous les détenteurs, les boulons et les instructions.
