Does it reduce recoil? Yeah. About as much as a pound of lead in the stock, which would cost 1/20th as much. Better yet, put a side-saddle on the gun and load it up with slugs that can serve a secondary purpose if needed. I bought one, liked what it did, but eventually removed it in favor of keeping the weight of the gun down to a reasonable level.
