Optimal Balance of Weight & Rigidity for Excellent Accuracy Potential
The Faxon Big Gunner 6.5 Creedmoor rifle barrel offers an excellent balance of maneuverable weight and accuracy potential. Faxon machines each Big Gunner barrel from triple stress-relieved 416R stainless steel, and finishes it with a tough, wear-resistant matte black QPQ Nitride finish. Faxon’s Big Gunner 6.5 Creedmoor rifle barrel profile is a blend of Faxon’s Government and Pencil profiles, matching the Gov’t taper from the extension to the gas block, with a Pencil profile from the block to the muzzle. Removing the weight from the front mitigates muzzle whip, while keeping material at the rear maximizes rigidity and resistance to heat distortion. It keeps the center of gravity to the rear, making the rifle more maneuverable. Fits a DPMS LR-308 pattern upper receiver Available in 18" and 20" lengths Uses standard rifle length gas tube 5R rifling with 1-8" twist for accuracy & easy cleaning QPQ Nitride coated inside & out 11° target crowned muzzle 5/8"-24 threaded muzzle is suppressor ready To ensure you have the best barrel possible, each Faxon Big Gunner 6.5 Creedmoor rifle barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until final inspection. Barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.
