Secures Receiver & Barrel For Assembly & Maintenance

Sturdy steel rod slips into the upper receiver to give needed support for barrel changes and parts installation. Makes removal and installation of barrels, flash suppressors, gas blocks, and handguards much easier. Designed to be gripped in a bench vise so that the rod is either horizontal or vertical. The upper receiver is then slid onto the rod and the rod’s integral splines enter the barrel extension and secure the barrel extension from turning, allowing all the torque from barrel nut wrenches to go directly into the barrel extension. Unique design can't mar the barrel’s exterior finish and eliminates the need to remove sights or optics when installing the barrel on the upper receiver.

SPECS: 4140 steel. 11½" (29 cm) long, .995" (25.3 cm) O.D., .745"(18.94 cm) across the flats.

Stabile Stahlstange wird in die obere Aufnahme geschoben, um den Laufwechsel und die Installation der Teile zu unterstützen. Erleichtert das Entfernen und Installieren von Fässern, Entstörern, Gasblöcken und Handschützern erheblich. Entwarf, in einen Schraubstock gefasst zu werden, damit die Stange entweder horizontal oder vertikal ist. Die obere Aufnahme wird dann auf die Stange geschoben und die integrierten Keile der Stange treten in die Laufverlängerung ein und sichern die Laufverlängerung gegen Verdrehen, sodass das gesamte Drehmoment der Laufmutternschlüssel direkt in die Laufverlängerung gelangen kann. Das einzigartige Design kann das äussere Erscheinungsbild des Laufs nicht beeinträchtigen und macht das Entfernen von Visieren oder Optiken bei der Installation des Laufs am oberen Empfänger überflüssig.

Angaben: 4140 Stahl. 29 cm (11 ") lang, 25,3 cm (0,995") Aussendurchmesser, 18,94 cm (0,745 ") über die Ebenen.

Awesome! Fits tight and works well! (03.02.2013)

I was blown away how well this thing works. After reviewing the videos and some other online reviews, it did look very promising and sure enough it delivered.

When it arrived I was impressed at how stout it was, this thing is solid metal, not a delrin or other plastic bar. It secures well into the vice and the upper/barrel slides right over it (I'd advise adding a little CLP to the rod to make it easier).

The lugs engage perfectly and you can tighten things up without worrying about undue stress on your aluminium receiver.

This tool is THE way to mount and dismount barrels. I have never been happy with the tools that hold either the barrel or the upper receiver. It always felt like the upper was being abused a bit. Not with this tool; the upper is just an innocent bystander during the procedure. As to quality, it works perfectly and is built with the same care and precision as all of the Geissele products I have used, that is to say, Precise and Professional.

Best new AR building tool (07.08.2013)

This tool has revolutionized my AR builds. The ease of setup (crank it into the vice) is great, and then being able to simply pull the upper and barrel off and push it back on at will, without fiddling with the vice each time is a great time saver. In addition, it takes all the torque off the receivers, and apples it to the barrel extension. That is brilliant!

Time saving tool (09.10.2014)

Simply crank it into your vice and you're ready to go. I would recommend this product if you intend to build multiple rifles. Extremely simple to use, and certainly worth every cent. Like any Geissele product it is incredibly well made.

The best AR15 barreling invention (15.04.2016)

Well built. Great design. The reaction rod makes taking barrels off and putting them on, fast and easy with no risk to the receiver. It is also great for working on the upper receiver. The receiver can be rotated and stabilized in multiple positions to access various parts of the receiver. The receiver slips on quick with no need to take off sights. The Reaction Rod is a smart buy, is solid, and will quickly pay for itself. I recommend this tool everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Geissele Reaction Rod for Ar-15 format (14.04.2017)

I received my Geissele reaction rod yesterday via FedEx / USPS. Hands down Geissele products are second to none. The reaction rod is perfect for mounting in a bench vise and holding the barrel extension instead of the upper receiver. One can position the upper receiver / barrel in any position just by pulling it out of the spline and turning it. I noticed the reaction rod was on sale (day after I received it) so I called Brownell's customer service and they graciously refunded my account the difference in price. Now that's 100% customer service guarantee. I turned around and bought the Geissele bench block to work on my lower receivers / buffers. Great products, prices and service from Brownell's. Thank you.
