No need to drill and tap a rock-hard Springfield with this No-Drill, No-Tap Mount. No need to bend the bolt, a simple grinding of the bolt handle for clearance is all that’s needed. Blends in well with original finish. Will not fit the 1903/1903 Mark I.

SPECS: Alum., black, anodized. Uses standard Weaver-style 1" (2.5cm) rings, not supplied. Wt. 3 oz. (85 g). 5-5⁄16" (13.5cm) long.

This no gunsmithing mount works as advertised but you may have to do minor trimming of the handguard as it will be too long "IF" you use the handguard retaining ring. Stock will also have to be notched slightly if you use the handguard retaining ring as the mount slightly pushes it forward. I bought an extra handguard and saved my original. You can find them cheap online.

Easy to install, secure (10.07.2012)

Easy to install on my Springfield M1903-A3. Had to use a dremmel on my stock to make the ring around the barrel for the front mount to fit. It was a synthetic stock so it only took 30 minutes to make it a nice fit. Fits very tight and secure.

had to cut top foreend piece shorter,then fiqure a way to secure it to stock from moving side to side.

update on first review (31.03.2013)

I ended up reuseing the stock ring.With a little extra thought,I cut the upper portion of the stock about a quarter of an inch shorter,and used a dremmel tool to fit.Great tool!I bought Accushot Premium 1-inch Weaver Style See-Thru Medium Profile Rings.The bolt handle clears the scope by 3/16 inch.I installed a Tasco Varmint 2.5-10x 42mm True Mil-Dot Reticle,1/4 MOA Turrets Riflescope.Looks great.
