Professional-quality fixture helps you produce straight, accurate, front strap frame checkering on your very first try. Clamps to any single stack, Govt. length frame and provides repeatable indexing for vertical and horizontal cuts, plus the initial undercut. If used correctly, this CNC-machined fixture will make it very difficult to make a mistake. Accepts all wide checkering files. Includes well written, well illustrated instructions.

SPECS: Aluminum fixture, matte, silver finish. Steel screws and indexing pins. Includes undercut rollers and Allen wrenches.

Se usato correttamente, questo apparecchio lavorato CNC renderà molto difficile fare un errore. Accetta tutti i file in largo checkering. Include istruzioni ben scritte, ben illustrate.

Specifiche: appuntamento fisso in alluminio, finitura opaca, argento. Viti in acciaio e perni di indicizzazione. Comprende rulli inferiori e chiavi esagonali.

I would have loved to have given it a better rating, because it is a great jig. especially for the money. That being said, some of the pieces, at least in my opinion, were not machined properly and I had to open up a couple of holes in order to allow the screws room for assembly. And for that kind of money, I should not have had to do anything to the jig. I know I could have returned it, the customer service at Brownell's is great, but I needed it up immediately. If you are a beginner, the included directions are a little lackluster, but other than that it is a five star product, and works great.

Accurate checkering jig (10.04.2012)

This was easy to set-up and use. What I liked about the fixture was its repeatability, but you still have to pay attention as to how your file lines up. Instructions had a few good points on how to set-up your checkering files too. This makes checkering less stressful. You still have to take your time creating the lines. My only nit is the height of the posts used for scribing horizontal lines. They need to be taller so I can angle the file deeper across the grip frame. Be careful and make sure your file remains aligned with previous horizontal cuts...
