These 1911 Government Model magazines have a welded-on steel baseplate to minimize bulk for situations where you want to keep thing compact. Each mag comes with a pair of screw-on rubber base pads - a thin pad to protect that mag when ejecting it on hard ground, and a thick pad to provide extra length to aid insertion into and removal from a pistol with an extended magwell.
