La parola ACRAGLAS si è dimostrata, nel corso degli anni di utilizzo da parte dei tiratori, una vera e propria descrizione del prodotto. Acraglas, come suggerisce il nome, è un materiale di precisione progettato esclusivamente per migliorare la precisione di un fucile. È un composto di lettura superiore utilizzato e venduto da rivenditori, produttori di calci e armerie, ma il suo scopo principale rimane quello di accurizzare un fucile.
Come citato da L.R.W. nella rubrica Dope Bag di The American Rifleman, “Acraglas si rivela un'eccellente preparazione per correggere letture scadenti e il fucile ripristinato dovrebbe rispondere con una precisione notevolmente migliore.”
“È anche un vantaggio per i pigri, poiché se stai fresando un blocco di legno, puoi semplicemente rimuovere troppo legno tutto intorno, applicare generosamente Acraglas, inserire il metallo (trattato correttamente con l'agente distaccante fornito con il kit) e lasciare riposare per circa 24 ore.
