Typical Magpul quality. You really don't know the difference until you've compared side-by-side (or had a cheap stock on your gun and then experience a quality one).

I have been waiting for the new gray to come out. Since then, I replaced my FDE MOE buttstock on my Smith and Wesson M&P with this one and love it. Fits true to the gun and looks great.

Best solution I have seen so far for a rock-solid fitment. Can't stand a stock that has any wobble in it and this one doesn't. Achieved simply with a double-locking system that is by necessity very simple to use. Also light weight, good cheek weld and has the slots I need for sling of choice. Can't beat it.

It is a beautiful product. Finish is clean. One small issue it fits a little loose, not a big issue. Fits way better than a standard stock. I did purchase a mil-spec stock for mil-pec buffer tube.

This is the Mil spec version. Only difference between commercial and mil spec is what tube it can be used on. I am using an mesa tactical endine shock tube that reduces recoil by 70%. This is quality that you will love. Also, it accepts the reduced recoil but pad and magpul's cheek raise! Some other magpul stocks don't. Only wish the battle spike could be mounted like UBR. BUY THIS!

I have my CTR for a few years now. It was one of Magpul's best seller. You do have to find an oversize extension tube to mate it in order for the secondary locking mechanism to work otherwise there is still some slack to it. A quick fix for loose fitting stocks? simply use Brownell's tactical tape over the extension tube by taping its entire lenght at the top of the tube and presto, you have a nice tight fitting stock with no play.

I used this on my Vltor build and am convinced it is simply the best choice in buttstocks for a carbine length AR

Great Lock-up. Very pleased with the product. If you need an elevated cheek-weld that won't interfere with the charging handle operation while telestock is collapsed, consider a LaRue Tactical RISR (Reciprocating Inline Stock Riser).

I use this buttstock in competition shooting. Its the most comfortable buttstock I've ever used out of like 3 or 4 different types. For the price and comfort its the best investment for your AR 15

I installed the CTR mil-spec on a Bushmaster lower receiver that shipped with a fixed, A2 rifle stock. At the time, Brownells did not offer mil-spec carbine receiver extensions. That's not a problem now.

It's solid and will hold up when the only way to clear a severe failure to extract requires one to strike the butt plate on the deck. There's no sharp edges. It locks up solid and doesn't make a lot of racket when it has to be readjusted.

This is a great product. It does exactly what it claims.

The ergonomics of this stock are perfect. I perfer this much over a standard CAR stock. The friction locking system works good. If your not worried about the small amount of play though the MOE stock would work just fine then.

This is another great stock by Magpul. Although I would have just gone with another MOE for the added price for the locking mechanism. It has the same tough construction and the locking lever does take the wiggle out. Again it looks great and comes with what Magpul calls a recoil pad; Its more like added grip. The pad is also not on the MOE version.

Great upgrade over standard stocks and the friction lock works as advertised. Just wish it had a little more weight to help balance forward heavy firearms and a better cheek weld but its superior to any standard M4 style stock offered on any civilian DPMS or Smith and Wesson for example or any military m4 carbine.

While that is not the only good thing about the Magpul CTR stock, it was a selling point to me. The original Colt collapsible stock would grab the ol' moustache hairs when going nose to charging handle. No more.

The CTR is also tight on the receiver extension and does not slip on the sholder.

I looked at and tried at all the competitor stocks. All the AR rifles I have with collapsible stocks now wear the CTR stock.

Wasn't happy with how the 6-position collapsible wobbles around, really annoying to me. Went with the CTR and couldn't be happier. Magpul quality fit and finish, positive locking and engagement, looks great, etc. Another solid Magpul must-have for AR fans. I would suggest getting the .70" extended pad for shooters that prefer long pull like myself.

I purchased this to put it on my AR to be used as a patrol rifle. Install was fast and easy. The stock completely eliminates play when locked into position. Great product I would reccoment it to anyone with an AR.

Extremely solid for a tele-stock, almost on par with a fixed stock. Friction lock eliminates nearly all play and the stock has a rock solid feel to it. Attractive, ergonomic and very high quality. Worth the money.

AT only 2 ounces heavier than an M4 carbine stock, the CTR is more durable and locks up tighter. Best of all, the standard rubber buttpad design is perfect. The Magpul designers really knew what they were doing when they designed the buttpad on this stock.

Magpul once again delivers with the CTR. Locks up with no play - on par with a fixed stock. The MilSpec Tube model DOES include the rubber buttpad. Shoulders exceptionally well and is one of the most comfortable stocks I've used. Well worth the upgrade cost over a standard CAR/M4 stock. I'd have no reservations recommending the commercial version either - Magpul quality speaks for itself.

I own 2 different CTRs and 3 MOE stocks. I love the CTR and feel it doesn't get much better. I have a few LMT SOPMOD stocks that I have removed and replaced with CTRs. I can't think of anything bad to say about the CTR.
