Jerry Kuhnhausen books are some of the best manuals you can get. Very detailed instructions on the 1911. This manual will always be a great reference no matter how many 1911's you built or how long you have been building them. I am always learning something new.

The book contains many detailed illustrations and pointers for disassembling, assembling and troubleshooting. My only gripe about the book was its binding; it literally fell apart after a few years. Thankfully, the pages were numbered! ;-)

Kuhnhausen's Colt .45 Auto/M1911 Pistol manual is great to begin with- The expanded 9th edition is even better.

Great book with a lot of information (28.12.2013)

Excellent book especially for some one who already has some knowledge but wants more. Only draw back is it could use some updating to what is available for todays 1911.

The book's contents are excellent.

A "shop" manual should be large enough to keep pages open while you are working, and view photographs and diagrams without using a magnifying glass.

You would have to use two bricks to keep this book open.

For the price, it should be much larger.
