Precision-machined to correctly center the receiver for lathe turning - ensures that receiver ring and threads will be square. Lets you use a tool-post grinder for fast, accurate recontouring of external surfaces - like removing a Mauser's charger guide.

This worked well when blueprinting my action. The 338 Ultra mag Built shot a 0.268 group with 250 grain Lapua bullets and a healthy load of N560. nice for a hunting gun and have the pictures to prove it. would buy again.

Purchased as a replacement to our old one that had seen decades of use and abuse. Only used it once but knowing Brownells quality we fully expect a few more decades out of this new one.

Used with a VZ 24 Mauser (15.08.2015)

As received the Facing Mandrel was 14 3/8 inch long. The receiver side dia was 0.7018 and 10 in long. the threads fit the LRM receiver and the shaft fit snugly. The dia of the shaft outside the receiver was 0.7518 and was 4 inch long with two flats. The ends have a center tap hole for turning on center. Works great for facing a LRM with a lath. Do not know if the Mason receiver facing cutter works on this shaft dia of 0.7518 in. I would give 5 stars if Bownells had a facing tool or it was made to be used with the Mason face cutting tool.
